Finally, stands in the land of Tokyo! Saturday, July 4th (Sat) – 5th (Sun) TOHOSHINKI made their first stage at Tokyo Dome.
Put on charm to 100,000 audiences in two days, the piled up relationship between members and the fans ever since debut made the stage leaving even deeper impression.
This is the first day concert’s situation report!
Tokyo stage — one who sends the charms
Tokyo Dome was wrapped by red penlight. “Red” represents the warm heart of all audiences themselves. The expectation of today’s Dome stage would be exploding. As the illumination fell and Tohoshinki appeared, the cheer exploded even more. All heat 0f 50,000 audiences was wavering in the air. In order to answer their excitement, the five people came out with a thrilled opening song “Secret Game” to rise up energy. Fresh summer song single “Share The World”, painful ballad “Doushite Kimi Wa Suki Ni Natta Shimattan Darou?”, and powerful “Take Your Hands” — the songs in different world of view and being expressed by whole body and soul.
At the first MC part, Hero Jaejoong shouted “Please accept the warm feeling of these 5 members!”. From what I thought, they were being sincere in saying that. It’s been 5 years since their debut. They were finally able to stand in the dream stage Tokyo Dome. Their feeling must be really touched to see how the whole seats were filled by audiences.
In contrast from the introduction section where they shared joy with everyone, to second section where they focused to “show the charm”. Speaking of Tohoshinki means another feature of outstanding performances.
To continue the stage, they came up with heavy sound and agressive powerful dance, “FORCE”. In combination with the perfect dancers, they delivered the cool and mysterious “Purple Line”. Be linked with video screen, was shown a quick change from black to white suits for “Jumun – MIROTIC” performance. The dance, for having said in one word, it’s something completely different. The boys proved themselves as top rank performers. In addition of dramatic rose, they changed the air with an intense song which lead people to sing together — a song filled with beautiful words “Heart, Mind, and Soul”. It was still the first half of the concert, but witnessing the wide talent of them, I already felt much satisfaction.
A stage that is full of members’ mind “I want to express this”
However, their talent doesnt stop there. As the concert continued, now it came to a section that has been started for this year, solo stages. And the special solo number for this year was by Jejung and Yocheon.
If the heat of audiences in Tokyo Dome was not hot enough before, I could tell that the temperature was even much rising now. Junsu came out first with his solo number. Dressed in white suits, Junsu sang and danced to “XIAHTIC”. His moves was so fast and sharp. The eyes of 50,000 audiences were locked. The excitement to see Junsu’s performance refused to leave our mind, he created a “strong character”.
Yuchon and Jejung came out next with duet performance of “COLORS ~ Melody and Harmony”. The song was gentle and sparkling, and according to the title, this song was completed by the harmony of these 2 men which was very beautiful. The stage wrapped the heart of 50,000 audiences in warm feeling.
The following performance, Yunho appeared hanging on rope from above. In stylish bright blue suit, “CHECKMATE” was performed. The dance revealed sexy looks. As the dance involved female dancers, the cheering went up high.
For last section of solo stage, Changmin took over the stage with “WILD SOUL”. Together with the band, Changmin exploded the stage in flame with his rock-ish singing and his energy was so wild. It was a surprising aspect of him as everyone was used to his cute image, he’s really overjoyed the fans.
After the solo section which stood out individually, now it’s time for the 5 members’ performance again. With Yuchon playing the piano, they sang “Begin”. A little bit jazzy taste, came “Nobody Knows”. They transferred painful feeling in “TAXI”, and the opposite of that, next came “Forever Love” which overflowed by love, all tunes expressed the changing colors.
For non-native speakers to sing such deep songs, we can imagine how difficult it was. However, the power of mind of these five people that determined, “I want to express this!” which makes everything possible. As the images of songs were actually created inside the head of audiences while listening to them, I notice that it’s possible everything that was sung out by these boys was really coming from their hearts.
20th song, “O Jun Ban Hap” which performed later, rushed the concert to the end of this live. Changing to pop colorful costumes, the audiences were great during “Somebody to Love”, everyone was turning their towel and jumped! Followed directly by a fresh number “Summer Dream”, and powerful “Survivor” tied the performance series.
Being charmed by the songs power for more than 3 hours, everyone looked overwhelmed.
With “The Way U Are”, they started to board to encore part. While singing “We Are!”, sub stage had been set up to move backwards during the performance. Newly released CD “Stand by U” following.
Yuchon said, “I made this song for you” starting “Kiss The Baby Sky”, and as they sang along with the 50,000 people through this song, the distance between them and the audiences became narrow.
“Today is like a dream comes true. My heart is full” (Junsu). “I feel sick for being too happy.” (Changmin).
The Tokyo Dome Live was finished by the combining of two great ballad songs where you can enjoy the overwhelming singing power of Tohoshinki, “Bolero” and “Love In The Ice”. By looking how enthusiastic the members singing, exicitement rising in the eyes of audiences. However, ones who were most impressed was no other but the 5 members. At the end, Yunho shouted, “Everyone is the best!!!” no doubt as he felt the bond with fans who shared precious time for 3 hours in this debut Dome performance.
Certainly, this experience has become their encouragements. It is linked to an improvement of heart, and will further boost the heights of Tohoshinki.
